Silver to extend coaches contracts
Silver Strikers general secretary Fred Kalonga has said they are in the process of renewing technical director Young Chimodzi and coach Lovemore Fazili’s contracts.
The duo’s contracts expired on December 31.
“Indications are that we will extend their contracts, but the issue will be tabled at the next executive committee meeting on Sunday,” said Kalonga.
The Silver GS said although they failed to win any silverware, they were generally impressed with their performance.
“They came at a time when we were struggling and they managed to win four if not five successive league games which was a sign of improvement,” he said.
Chimodzi and Fazili were ropped in at the start of the second round.
The Bankers failed to finish among the top four when they were held to a one-all draw by Azam Tigers in a match they needed to win.
They finished on fifth position with 44 points behind Be Forward Wanderers who edged Red Lions 1-0 on the same afternoon to warap up the season with 45 points. n
